Every child deserves to be truly nourished at school.

School of Lunch helps schools and the people who feed children put real, nutrient-dense food at the center of the school day with practical training, consulting, and support to make change last.

Three ways to create change

School lunch transformation happens when we all take action. Whether you're a parent, school leader, chef, or supporter, there's a way for you to get involved.

Why It Matters

School lunch is more than a meal.

A school lunch program is part of a child’s health, learning, mood, and development. When we give children real, nutrient-dense food, we do more than feed them for the afternoon—we help shape their relationship with food and lay the foundation for lifelong nourishment.

School of Lunch helps schools make that kind of nourishment possible—in ways that are practical, joyful, and built to last.

A Living Model

We’ve shown what’s possible.

Since 2017, founder Hilary Boynton has led the school lunch program at Manzanita School in Los Angeles, developing a real-world model for what nourishing school food can look like.

From sourcing and menus to kitchen systems and staff training, Manzanita has helped us learn what it takes to put nutrient-dense, real food on the table—and make it work in a real school.

It Takes One

One meal can make a difference.

One parent can start a conversation.
One school leader can open a door.
One chef can make a change.
One donor can fund a pilot.
